24th November

Today I have finally completed the final image but I felt that it was a bit rushed as I missed quite a few lessons during this particular project. But I am still quite proud of my outcome as that was what I was kind of picturing in my head while making the image on photoshop. I have during time at home downloaded many different types of brushes to help create a white smudge behind the font to help it stand out and also quite a mystical effect. I also liked the part in my image where below the words Black Avenger all the colour of the people drains out leaving everything in black and white while the top is still coloured. This is all thanks to the effect of Hue and saturation found in Photoshop. The words in the picture I have decided to create quite some effects on it. I have added texture on it and also created a black and white effect on it. The fading effect caused by the white smudges also create quite a distant effect in the image making it look interesting. Below is the final image.

15th November

Now I have decided to continue to work on my image but instead I have concentrated on creating the text in the album. There are thousands of different text fonts on the web.The ones I was mainly interested is those that were common in famous rock bands such as Linkin Park, Boys like Girls. I also looked at old band covers such as the Led Zepplelin covers. These gave me ideas and I came across a few types of effects such as a supernatural effect that made it look quite alien like, a smoking effect to make it look mysterious but in the end I decided to choose a font that looked liked Graffiti but also symbolises a bit of rock music in it with its writing. Out of the many ways to create effects I have found a website with special effects all done for you. These were called actions and all you had to do were to insert them on to your photoshop and clicking it would automatically create the effect it creates. However I found it much more interesting to use my own types of effects.

12th November

In this lesson I had continued experimenting with different types of effects for my image in Photoshop. I tried creating the fire effect and it worked perfectly well but I decided to try something different because the fire effect was quite common and I wanted to do something quite different from others. The band is called Black Avenger so I decided that from the name of the band most fans would expect the cover to be black and not that colourful. At this stage I found effects that could turn the people in image to a completely different colour, have special glow outlines etc. I experimented with the whole lot but still decided staying with a more back to the past look was much better.

November 8th

I have decided to create our band album picture to something quite similar as a flashback in the past image. I have used a non copyright background from the website stock. Xching where there are plenty of copyright photos which could be used for many purposes such as the reason I am using it for creating a band album. The background was a colour street background but to create the effect I turned it black and white. The Original picture is below. After I inserted this image into the photoshop document I used the Hue and Saturation effect to create a black and white effect. To turn it black and white I have to drag the saturation bar right down. I also wanted to have the right trees to have some colour so you can select the brush icon but the colours must be the default black and white. Then as you highlight the areas you want in colour it turns back into the original colour so it can stand out

November 5th

For this lesson I have finished using Adobe Photoshop Cs4 to cut our band picture out and put it on to another background. In the process we had used the green screen to take the photo shot and then cut it out with the many tools in Photoshop. The key tools I used was the magic wand tool and the quick selection tool. This helps me select the different parts of the image easily and qucikly as the tool recognizes all parts of the image with similar colour and parts. Now I am using ideas from my mood board to create the perfect album cover for out band.

The beginning of our band - Black Avenger

As we ADL Advertising went bankrupt another company requested us to do another job. The company is ADL Promotions. Here we are working on a project called Mega Media. We are to promote our band made out of 5 members. Using different technology we are going to create the best band Asia has ever seen. Our Band is made up of us 5 members me, Andrew, Justin, Tristan and Kaz. Our band is called Black Avenger and the style of music we play is rock music. Our music is closely associated with bands such as Linkin Park and also Metallica. Our main theme for our photo shot is a young look with black T shirts and Dark blue Jeans. This is quite a popular among teen bands .
